Description: Dozens of carriers leaving the main city post office building in New York City on June 15, 1936. Among the items carriers had in their mailbags for delivery that day were the first "bonus army" checks. The "bonus army" were World War I veterans who demonstrated in Washington, D.C. in 1932 for more rapid payment of their Service Certificate payments. The veterans received cashable bonds in 1936.

Das Prüfen der Wasserstände gehört zu den wichtigsten Aufgaben des Heizers. Es sollte zumindest zu beginn des Dienstes und bei dessen Abschluss durchgeführt werden. Es ist dies auch vorgeschrieben, wenn der Lokomotivführer die Lokomotive zu Dienstbeginn betritt, oder der Lokomotivführer durch einen anderen Lokführer abgelöst wird. Auch während des Dienstes ist es ratsam, immer mal wieder den Wasserstand zu prüfen, um die feinen Bohrungen, als auch den Schnellschluss sauber und funktionsfähig zu halten. Dies ist der Albauwasserstand mit Kegelverschlüssen, man sieht hier das Verfahren zum Prüfen dieses Wasserstandstyps. Die Water Gauge of a Series G8 of the prussian railways and how to check it. The water gauge check has to be done regulary as the fireman starts his duty or at the end of the shift. It is also prescribed to check it when the engineer enters the cab at the beginn of the shift, or when the driver is relieved by another driver.
